Effect of dexamethasone on secondary human patellar (A) or anterior cruciate ligament (B) derived cell proliferation. Cells were plated out in 24 well plates at a density of 5 × 103 cells per well as described above. The cultures were stopped after 1 or 2 weeks and cell number determined by methylene blue staining. * denotes statistical significance compared to appropriate control cultures, p < 0.05.
